The Union Cabinet has given approval for construction of Greenfield International Airport through the Public Private Partnership in the district of Kannur, Kerala.
The decision for this International Airport will meet requirements of upwardly raising air traffic in the malabar region of kerala especially in and around the district of Kannur.
The airport is about to set up in over 2000 acres of land and will initially have only a single runway. The project would be completed through the Public Private Partnership (PPP) route. Rs. 929.5 crores is the expected total project cost for the proposed construction.
